My mantra the last few weeks.
Last week, I actually followed the Dr's orders and rested. Well except for the 3 times I went to bootcamp....and the soccer game I played in on Saturday(parents vs. kids) so much fun!
the kids won..of course...4-8.. |
these were some FAST kids!! |
....but other than that...I rested.
Monday I ran a quick 4 miles to test out my leg and it felt a little better. The swelling has gone down a little and the pain is not as sharp. I'm trusting in God's healing power and hopeful that this will not affect my race on Nov 5th. I'm so hopeful that this will be a complete NON-ISSUE, that I registered for 2 more marathons!
Rocket City in Huntsville, AL-12/10/11
and
Rock 'n Roll New Orleans!!

I think I'm hooked!!!
10 days until I run Savannah Georgia....people keep asking if I'm ready. My answer...I guess. When I signed up for this race I was prepared to do two things. Run and raise money for the Fetal Hope Foundation.
I will be ready to run on November 5th. And so far I have raised an amazing $595.00! Not quite my goal of $1000.00, but there is still time left. If you haven't donated yet, please do. I have a great giveaway/raffle HERE with awesome prizes for runners. It only takes a minimum donation of $5 to enter!! Please help support this amazing foundation.
Fetal syndromes affect 800,000 pregnancies per year in the US alone. This is four times the amount of cases per year as breast cancer. We lose more than 200 babies a day to fetal distresses and syndromes.
With your donation, we can make a difference in bringing hope and changing lives.

I will be praying for your leg during your race! Putting it on my calendar now! I had to quit my training for my 2nd half for a variety of reasons...it just didn't fit into my crazy life lately but I am training my daughter for her first 5k on Nov. 20th and I can't wait to see her cross that finish line! I plan to run another half soon and hopefully a full one day:) Good luck...running IS addictive:)
yay yay yay! so glad to hear you were able to run with less pain! and are feeling better. so excited for your race!
also...how fun...parents vs kids!?! that sounds awesome!
and jealous of the RnR New Orleans...i really want to do that one some day!
Woo hoo! I just signed up for the half in New Orleans. See you there...
Here's to feeling better! Nov5 is long enough away so that more healing is possible(at least that's what I'm saying to my body).
Glad to hear the pain is better this week! I think I'm going to spectate for Rocket City so I get a feel for everything so I'm ready for next year. I'd love to meet up with you!
Wow. Two more marathons?!!..... I'm a slacker :(
Glad your leg is feeling a little better. I will pray, too, that it just continues to heal more and more so that it doesn't bother you in Savannah!
That soccer game looks awesome!
Exciting that you signed up for 2 more races! I'm running the Phialdelphia half marathon on November 20, then I don't know what's next after that. I'll probably ease off the longer runs for a little bit until I pick a spring half marathon.
