“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31.

Three Things Thursday

1.The big race is Saturday and the weather report is calling for thunderstorms all morning....not sure what I'm supposed to do.  I don't mind running in rain at all....but thunder and lightning not so much.  Do they postpone races this big? I'm making a trip to a local thrift shop for a rain coat I can throw away.  I am also praying for dry skies..

2. Hubby is traveling out of town for work, so I will be making the 2hr trip to Nashville solo.  I'm staying the night with Hubby's Aunt and I'm excited to spend some quality time with her.  I haven't really had a chance to see her since her husband passed away a few months ago.  It should be a very nice, low-key, evening.

3.I can not wait to go to the Expo tomorrow! I'm hoping it is as good as the R n' R Arizona expo.  That expo was like Disney Land for runners and I've got my spending stash ready! I want to find a couple cute running shirts.  Last time the girls from Run Happy Tees had a booth set up and I almost bought one of their shirts and then changed my mind.... I regretted it as soon as I left because they were significantly discounted at the Expo and the Tees are super cute!

I want to thank you all for your encouragment, support, and advice! My nerves are better today and I know that I am prepared.  I trained hard and I trained smart....
My next post will be my race re-cap!!!
Good wishes and blessings to all of you who have races this weekend!!

If you're new to my blog, welcome! If you're not new, thanks for stopping by!  I love reading your comments and feedback!

Grace and peace,

Sounds like it could be kind of exciting! I hope the weather isn't so bad that they cancel it! Best wishes!

I look forward to your race report!

I've raced in the rain and have even had a race cut short due to lightening. That wasn't fun.

I'm hoping you are dry and fast.

How about a "runner's raincoat"? Get yourself one of those big green (30 gallon) trash bags. Slit holes for your head and arms in the bottom and the sides of the bag. Pull it over your head, and viola!

The bag is windproof, so it will trap body heat, and is cheap so when you no longer need it, you can just tear it off and toss it. I use one a lot of times just to stay warm at the start line of early morning races.

Have fun and good luck (although you are trained so luck is not needed). Nashville is one of my favorite places in the whole Country!

I had the same forcast for raceday last weekend. Luckily, it didn't thunder and lightening in the morning (or rain for that matter). Best wishes for good race conditions!

Good luck on Sat. -- fear of lightning makes you run faster!! I hope it doesn't though and that you get to run! I would not like that one bit if it stormed on race day.

Keep it up.

My first half marathon was in the rain the entire time. Luckily one of my training partners was more experienced that I, and had brought those $1 emergency poncho things. It worked perfectly and even has a hood to keep the head somewhat covered. Since then I keep on in my race day bag just in case...

Good luck and you'll do great!!!!
